Trendy Gown For Every Women

Since time immemorial, gowns have been in the thick of women's wear. In the past, gowns were the nobility's prerogative and they declared the wearer's wealth, family status, and social standing. It became an ambition for women to wear the finest of gowns; in the courts of kings around the world, each tried to dress herself better than the others.

The pattern for every day, not only special occasions, was elaborately decorated gowns made of the most luxurious cloth with exquisite embroidery, embellishments, and trimmings.

For a long time, voluminous skirts with several layers of petticoats and hoops inside featured the gowns seen in European courts to keep the form intact, long trains, narrow bodices with tightly laced corsets, draped exterior layers, high and low necklines, and intricate sleeves.

To make the gowns, costly fabrics including silk brocade and taffeta were used. The mother and sisters of school going girls and boys usually wear such gowns at occasion and at home.

Types of Gowns

Evening Gown

Formal evening gowns are long dresses appropriate for formal/special occasions and are typically made of costly materials, beautiful embellishments and intended to differentiate the wearer from the crowd.

Morning Gown

These are the casual dress that can be wear during the day.

Ball Gown

With a tailored bodice, tight waist and a very long, floor length skirt, with or without a train, the most common silhouette in gowns is Ball Gown.

Mermaid Gown

The skirt is closely tailored to the hips and thighs in this type of gown, but flares from the knees. This is done by removing panels that flare or applying a different fabric from the knees. The gown is known as a trumpet gown as well.

A-Line Gown

The gown has a tailored bodice in this style and the skirt flares softly from the waist to the hem of the skirt, forming the form of a capital letter A. Typically this is done with princess line panels, so it is often called the gown of the princess line.
